The Under 8's show the Sharks what is in the pipeline.
What a day at the AJ Bell Stadium. On a cold and wet morning, everyone was thankful that we were playing in the Sale Sharks U8's tournament on the astroturf. To make matters worse..... everyone had 1 hour less as the clocks went forward!
Sale Sharks U8's festival.
Trafford arrived in force on this wet day, with 2 teams to show what we've got. Throughout the tournament the organisers would be looking for an individual that lived up to the spirit of rugby. This was shown by a number of people and in the 2 teams, strength, support, discipline and enjoyment showed throughout. Even though the rain poured throughout the smiles of the children brought the morning to life. Kish played excellently in his first tournament and smiled throughout.
Playing the likes of Didsbury, Eccleshall, Withington Park, Congelton both teams acquitted themselves brilliantly.
Everyone was presented with a medal, and we all paraded around the pitch at half time in the Sale v Gloucester game.
In the end, Trafford had a number of people the Sale players were looking at for the spirit of rugby, however it was Ben H, who was singled out as the best representation in the tournament. All the coaches and parents are proud of his approach and attitude, and we hope that he can continue playing rugby in this spirit in the years to come. The coaches were very proud of every single player.
A big thank you to the parents who attended, help motivate and keep warm and active the children on a very cold wet day.
Half time match.
Not only did the children play a tournament, but they also played tag at halftime on the hallowed turf of the AJ Bell. 8 of theses lucky ones played a further game against Broughton Park. Well done to Bradley, Ben, Callum, Liam, Dominic, Ben.
Whilst this game was being played, Ben H was being awarded the Spirit of Rugby award for that morning. The photo shows Ben with Sharky, Finlay and 2 of the academy players.
